MASSENA -- A Massena man who was arrested for drugs along with a well-known local radio personality is facing a new charge for allegedly violating a protection order.
Edward J. Slade, 24, of 96 Cook St. is charged with second-degree criminal contempt.
A document filed with Massena Village Court says Slade allegedly called James Baker on Friday night, in violation of an order of protection.
Slade and Sanford T. Cook, 60, also of 96 Cook St. were arrested and charged earlier the same day. Police executed a search warrant that afternoon at their home and allegedly found heroin, crack cocaine and hypodermic needles.
Each are facing a misdemeanor count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Cook is a well-known host on WMSA 1340 AM and was Massena town supervisor from 2001 to 2005.
Slade was charged March 14, 2015 with robbery and burglary for walking into someone’s home, getting into a scuffle with the person and stealing $4 from a pair of pants on the floor.
