CANTON — A Massena man was arrested after allegedly calling a protected party and making a death threat from the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility , according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Scott J. Ashley, 46, contacted the protected party on several occasions in June using another inmate's phone information, officers said.
He made a death threat during one of the conversations, deputies said.
Ashley was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, felony.
He was arraigned in Potsdam court and released on his own recognizance, officers said.
