MASSENA -- A village resident was charged with several counts after he allegedly ran into a building while intoxicated and walked away from the scene.
Gregory P. Baxter, 34, of Pine Street was charged with driving while intoxicated, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, refusing a breath test, speed not reasonable and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.
Baxter is accused of colliding with a building near Amici’s restaurant and then walking away on foot on Jan. 12 around 7:45 p.m., Chief Adam Love said.
He was caught a short time after the collision on Water Street and allegedly in possession of a small quantity of a controlled substance, police said.
He was released with appearance tickets for Massena court, the chief said.
