CHASE MILLS -- St. Lawrence County sheriff deputies say they charged a Massena man with a felony after he allegedly accepted money for porch repairs but never started the job or purchased the materials.
Travis J. Carter, 38, of Madison Avenue, Massena is charged with third-degree grand larceny, deputies said.
He allegedly took the money on June 7 while working for TNM Home Renovations, according to deputies.
He was charged Saturday, arraigned in Oswegatchie Town Court and placed under probationary supervision, with a future appearance in Louisville Town Court, deputies said.
