MASSENA -- A Massena man is facing a felony charge for stealing from his employer by entering bogus bottle return transactions and pocketing the cash.
Benjamin E. Vandamm, 28, of 1 Grove St., Massena is charged with one count each of falsifying business records, felony, and petit larceny, misdemeanor.
Massena Village Police Sgt. Adam Love said Vandamm, who was employed at Rite Aid, entered seven false transactions as bottle returns and pocketed the cash, which totaled less than $1,000. This happened sometime within the last week, police said.
Vandamm was arrested at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at Rite Aid, according to village police.
