MASSENA — A Massena man was charged Tuesday stemming from an investigation of more than $8,000 being stolen from the American Legion in March and April of 2014, according to state police.
Thomas W. Macomber, 71, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, felony, at 1:45 p.m., troopers said.
Troopers said Macomber is believed to have stolen more than $8,000 while he was a member of the legion during early 2014.
He was arraigned in Massena court and released under the supervision of probation and it to appear in court Feb. 9 at 1:30 p.m. to face the charges, officers said.
The incident was first reported to state police on June 15.
State police were assisted in the investigation by the New York State Gaming Commission.
