MASSENA -- A Massena man is jailed for allegedly stealing nearly $6,000 from Duty Free Americas, where he worked.
Andrew Foster, 29, of 9 Caravan Drive is charged with third-degree grand larceny.
Sam Zappia, a Duty Free Americas regional manager, told police that he discovered at least $5,371 missing from the store coffers.
Foster’s mother, Colleen Foster, told police she found bags of money from the store in her son’s bedroom closet. She turned the bags, which contained slips with Foster’s signature, over to Zappia, who notified police, court documents state.
Foster was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald Sharlow and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $2,500 bail or $5,000 bond.
