The Massena Lions Club recently adopted a platoon from the 2-10 Assault Helicopter Battalion stationed in Afghanistan.
“The Massena Lions Club whose motto is ‘We Serve’ uses money raised during the year at various fundraisers to support a variety of projects," Lions Club President, Carol Perry said. "In addition to adopting this platoon, we also aid the visually impaired and blind...providing exams/eyeglasses for children and adults in need.”
Lions Club members Rick Esterline, Peter Tennis, Darryl Chase, Linda Small Chase, Penny Pullmain, Cynthia Crowsen, Kay Romeo and former Lions Quest and Leo member Sarah White helped with the event.
“We urge everyone to support the Massena Lions Club and if you are interested in finding out more about our organization the club currently meet on Wednesdays at 12:15 – Dar’s Place. Lions Clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs” Perry said.
