MASSENA -- The Town Council rejected the sole bid for the former Massena Museum and is looking at listing it with a real estate company.
Town Supervisor Joseph Gray said they received one bid for the 200 East Orvis Street building at $30,001, which the board unanimously turned down.
“We weren’t very adroit on advertising the sale of the property,” he said, adding that it only was listed in a legal listing, which not many people read.
“We need to have an open house,” Gray said.
The board then voted to look at putting it on the market. Councilmen Steve O’Shaughnessy, whose wife works at Kassian Real Estate, and Sam Carbone, a realtor at Paul Post Realty, abstained.
