MASSENA -- The Massena Lady Red Raiders gave more than $500 to a Massena family in need on Tuesday night.
The team named Mark Kormanyos the recipient of the proceeds of their January Pink in the Rink fundraiser game. They hold the fundraiser annually.
“We’re with you 100 percent,” Massena Coach Jennifer Grey told Kormanyos. “We’re honored to see our heard work go back into the community.”
Kormanyos, a former hockey player, teared up as he told the girls they made great strides as a team and to cherish their years playing varsity hockey.
“What you’ve done for girls hockey is going to resonate for years,” he told the team. “This is heartwarming … I’ve been in your shoes. Enjoy it.”
