MASSENA -- Hunger Solutions New York has awarded a WIC Help NY contract to the Massena Independent Living Center Inc. to deliver WIC outreach in St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties.
The Center’s Maximizing Independent Living Choices program will be focused on increasing enrollment in the state’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
MILC’s WIC outreach is conducted by a full-time WIC Help specialist who provides one-on-one services to connect eligible pregnant and postpartum women, and children under age 5 to the WIC program.
The WIC Help specialist can help determine if someone may be eligible for WIC, explain how WIC works, and can set an appointment at a local WIC clinic. This service is free and confidential.
To learn more about the program contact MILC at 315-764-9442 or 1-877-397-9613.
