MASSENA -- Massena will host the 2015 Northern New York Volunteer Firemen's Association Convention, according to Town Councilman Tom Miller.
He said it will line up with the Massena Chamber of Commerce Heritage Weekend and organizers of both events will work to have both happenings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the same week. He added that their respective parades will march as one.
Over 2,000 firemen from around the state will converge on Massena for the event. It brings with it firematic, or drill team races.
An earlier story reported in error that the event would be the Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY). NorthCountryNow.com regrets the error.
