This 20-year-old program has helped purchase and provide smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to Massena-area families and senior citizens that cannot afford them.
This will purchase about 40 smoke detectors and 20 carbon monoxide detectors that will be handed out to families in need.
Those who need detectors or know someone that does can contact the Massena Fire Department at 769-2380.
Fire department members will educate the public on where to install the detectors, perform the actual installation of the detectors for senior citizens and provide fire safety inspections of a home.
