MASSENA -- The Development Authority of the North Country (DANC) received village board approval on Tuesday night to install a $100,000 150kW generator in the basement of the Massena fire station.
Fire Department Foreman Ken McGowan said the generator runs DANC telecommunications equipment and will run the station in the event of a power failure.
McGowan said the resolution that was approved Tuesday alters a deal DANC had with the village to lease space in the basement.
The new deal expires Feb. 2024.
