MASSENA -- The Community Meal Planning Committee is looking for one or more people who are willing to volunteer their time and cook a meal for approximately 130 people the second Thursday of every month.
The Community Meal Program is a volunteer program funded through a grant from the Food Bank and donations from individuals and organizations and provides a free dinner on the first, second and fourth Thursdays of the month for anyone who is interested in coming.
There are three separate teams, one for each meal, to include cooks, servers, dishwashers and helpers that volunteer their time to prepare and serve a nutritious dinner three Thursdays a month. Two of the three cooks for the meal on the second Thursday are planning on retiring and moving away from the area. In order to continue to be able to offer a meal on that Thursday we need one or two people to take over the responsibilities of planning and preparation of the meal.
If you are interested or have questions, contact Kathryn Perry at 842-1276. They would like to be able to have the new volunteers work with the two current cooks for the next couple months.
