MASSENA -- The Boys & Girls Club of Massena is getting closer to launching their part-time program at Jefferson School.
To fill out their paid staffing needs, they seek high-energy program assistants to lead activities and provide positive supervision for groups of children starting in October.
"This position is perfect for teachers looking for highly rewarding after-school work, as well as college students who are interested in becoming teachers or working with youth," said the Massena Boys and Girls Club board's first vice president Patricia Wilson. "The complete details are on the Career page of our website but we are looking for people with a positive, high-energy outlook; experience working with youth; and the ability to serve as a positive role model for young people."
Ideal candidates will have experience in planning, leading and supervising activities for children that are fun, educational, age-appropriate and structured, according to Wilson.
Paid staff and a team of volunteers will work from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at Jefferson Elementary School during the pre-launch phase. All applicants are subject to a background check and drug test.
