MASSENA -- The Boys and Girls Club of Massena will return to the Winter Carnival, sponsoring the Snow Sculpture Contest on Sunday, Jan. 19.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Massena and will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Club’s future home, 30 Bayley Road. The facility is slated for a fall opening.
Making snow sculptures can be a fun way of spending time outdoors with family and friends,” the club said in a prepared statement. “For those artistically inclined, it’s a great way to show off your creative expression and talent.”
Snow builders of all ages can join.
There will be an entry fee for each category. Kids are $5, adults are $15, families or groups are $25 and businesses are $100.
Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion.
Registration deadline is Jan. 16. Those wishing to sign up can email director@bgcmassena.org or 250-7806.
The club will also offer a giant snow slide and snow maze. The day of the snow sculpture contest will also feature a snow-painting event at noon, which anyone can join. It will include face-painting and a hot chocolate stand.
The club will also have a float in the Jan. 17 parade.
