MASSENA -- The Board of Education on Thursday voted to accept donated head lice kits for low-income families and a book for a history class from a Korean War veteran.
The lice kits came from the North Country Prenatal Perinatal Society. The nursing staff will distribute the kits, according to a letter announcing the donation.
“We appreciate that. There are many families who don’t have the resources to buy these kits," Superintendent Pat Brady said at the school board meeting.
The book, "Korea Reborn," came from Herb and Phyllis Spence, who recently gave a presentation to Dan Skamperle's U.S. History class on his experiences as a soldier during the Korean War.
"We really appreciate our veterans coming in," Brady said.
