MASSENA -- Students at Jefferson Elementary School will be able to take advantage of a book exchange, thanks a $1,000 grant the Board of Education voted to receive on Thursday.
“Books On Wheels” allows students to purchase a book for a quarter or trade their old books for free.
A teacher at the school will run the program Mondays and Thursdays from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. and 3 to 3:30 p.m. each day.
The cart is continuously stocked, according to a document from the school board.
The funding flowed to the district through the Northern New York Community Foundation’s Youth Philanthropy Council.
