MASSENA -- Massena Central School District Athletic Director Gavin Regan was among those who awarded medals at 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship in Montreal.

In addition to his school position, Regan serves as vice president of International Hockey. His role covers all international teams from the men's and women's Olympic Teams to world juniors team and sled hockey teams. Regan has been on the USA Hockey board of directors for 20 years, and currently serves on the USA Hockey Foundation board as secretary.

Gavin Regan is in his first year as Athletic Director at Massena Central School District.

“I love working with our student athletes here in Massena. I enjoy watching the students grow as people and athletes. I feel my job is to help give every athlete the opportunity to be successful,” said Regan. “Athletics helps the student with belonging to something bigger than just themselves. It teaches them to be part of a team, time management and hard work.”

According to Regan his role at Massena and his position with International Hockey share many similarities.

“From awarding gold medals in the World Junior Tournament or being the athletic director at Massena Central School, it takes a team effort to be successful. Here at Massena we have a great partnership between our community and our school. We get wonderful support from the board of education, business community, teachers, coaches, support staff, parents and students. That partnership and team effort helps give our student athletes the opportunity to be successful on and off the playing surface.”
