MASSENA -- Top honors at the Massena Artists Association's spring art exhibit went to Lexsi Thomas. She submitted a charcoal drawing titled "Deep Thought" and a pencil drawing she calls "OMG."
Second place went to Marjorie Decker for her oil paintings “A Picnic Place” and “Sunset Through the Pines.”
Third place went to Courtney Manley for her acrylic paintings “Midnight” and “Bliss.”
The awards were voted by those viewing the exhibit during its first week on display at the Massena Public Library.
It was the sixth time the MAA has held the event. It was not juried, meaning all submissions made the show.
MAA says upwards of 80 pieces were submitted and many were showing their work in Massena for the first time.
Honorable mention was a tie between Louise Giroux for her mixed media work “Wise Old Owl” and Genie Rounds for her acrylic paintings “Valley of Souls” and “Blissful.”
