MASSENA -- The Massena Artists' Association recently selected the winners of the spring art exhibit awards.

First place was awarded to Luanne Tucker for her two graphite drawings, “Clarissa” and “Addy.”

Second place honors went to Tina Tarbell for her oil painting “Meander.”

Third place was awarded to Maureen Eldred for her oil painting “Reflections.”

“Honorable mentions” were given to Susan Gordon for her counted cross stitch works, “Babbling Brook” and “Alone;” Donna Smith for her acrylic painting, “St. Patrick’s Church;” Sandra Young for her oil painting, “The River;” Sallie Patterson for her oil painting, “The Flow Blue Vase;” Pamela May for her oil paintings, “Fantasy Sunrise” and “Floating Reeds;” and Dorothy Goodrich for her oil painting, “The Empty Bottle” and her pastel “Terry’s First Day of School.”

Everyone who attended the exhibit’s opening reception or visited the first week of the exhibit was asked to vote for the People’s Choice award. Luanne Tucker's entries, "Clarissa" and "Addy" were the People’s Choice winners.

The exhibit will remain on display at the Massena Public Library through Friday, May 31.

The exhibit was open to all artists, all media and all subjects. It is not a juried show – everything that was submitted was included.

Artists may pick up their work at any time Saturday, June 1.
