Two North Country athletes came home with medals from a grappling match in Syracuse May 21.
Competing in the North American Grappling Association’s submission fighting tournament teens were Abigail Duquette, 16, of Nicholville and Wesley Rode, 15, of Massena, who each brought home medals in four divisions:
Abigail Duquette
• 1st Place Female Adult, NO-GI Lightweight
• 1st Place Female Adult, NO-GI Heavyweight
• 2nd Place Male Teens, NO-GI
• 2nd Place Male Teens, GI
Wesley Rode, 15 of Massena
• 2nd place Expert NO – GI, teens
• 2nd place NO - GI, adult
• 3rd place Expert GI,– teens
• 3rd place GI, adult
