MASSENA -- The mayor and a trustee recently looked at a lot on South Raquette Road for residents to bring brush and leaves.
Meanwhile, residents can still bring them to the old DPW on South Main Street, Mayor Tim Currier said on Tuesday.
The village is in the process of selling the old DPW to St. Lawrence Soyway to open a soy processing facility, but the sale hasn’t closed, Currier said at the Tuesday village meeting.
Currier said he and Trustee Francis Carvel checked out the South Raquette lot where the village now stores wood chips and uses as a training area for the fire department.
The leaf and brush storage question led to a tense discussion at the Sept. 19 village meeting. More about that is at goo.gl/oMq5oK.
