GOUVERNEUR -- The 4-H Sheep Show last week at the Gouverneur-St. Lawrence County Fair was a great place to learn about the different breeds of sheep. There were Suffolk, North Country Chevier, Cotswold, and Shropshire, all entered for the competition.
Connor Pierce of Heuvelton came away with the award for Champion Ewe, while Aaron Armstrong of Lisbon and his ewe took Reserve Champion Ewe. The Champion Ram honors of the 4-H Sheep Show went to Reilly Pierce and her Ram, and Reserve Champion Ram was captured by Connor Pierce and his Ram.
4-H in St. Lawrence County offers many educational and fun opportunities for children ages 5 – 19. If you would like more information regarding the 4-H program in St. Lawrence County contact the Cornell Cooperative Extension office of St. Lawrence County at 379-9192.
