OSWEGATCHIE -- State police say a man who told them he swerved off the road to avoid a squirrel refused to take a breath test and was charged with driving while intoxicated early today.
Troopers say Gregory S. Wong, 22, of Glenmont, went into a ditch off of Rt. 37 early this morning as he was eastbound.
He refused to take a breath test to check for alcohol blood content, police say.
He was given tickets for refusing the test, DWI, and failure to use designated lane.
Wong was arraigned before Justice Phillips in Town of Morristown Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bail bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Town of Oswegatchie Court on Aug. 11.
