CANTON -- St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies charged a man Thursday who fled led on a high speed chase in October.
Deputies had to use spike strips to stop the man after they chased him from Canton to Gouverneur.
Marvin M. Trim, 53, Dickinson Center, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer, reckless driving, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operations and multiple traffic violations.
The arrest stemmed from an Oct. 12, 2015 incident, where Trim allegedly fled the scene of a motor vehicle accident at a high rate of speed.
Deputies were able to locate Trim's vehicle in the Village of Canton, but Trim failed to comply with deputies emergency lights.
Trim then allegedly traveled south on County Route 25 to County Route 24 in the Village of Edwards and then on to Gouverneur.
Deputies deployed a spike strip to slow Trim's vehicle, which deflated both of his tires.
Deputies then arrested Trim and transported him to Gouverneur Hospital to be treated and then to Claxton Medical Hospital where he underwent a mental health exam.
