POTSDAM -- Village police say one of their officers was injured while attempting to arrest a Dickinson Center man for driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest on Friday.
Thomas R. Kelley, 29, is jailed on charges of first-offense DWI, resisting arrest, unsafe turn and failure to signal.
Police say they pulled Kelley over on Maple Street after not signaling while turning from Market Street. When officers attempted to arrest him after discovering he'd been drinking and possessed a small amount of pot, he resisted.
An officer sustained an injury to his hand and was treated and released from Canton-Potsdam Hospital, police said.
Further charges are pending, officers said.
Kelley was arraigned in Potsdam Village Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Corrrectional Facility, Canton in lieu of $2,000 bail or $4,000 bond.
