POTSDAM -- Village police re-arrested a Rooseveltown man early today after his release on a tresoass charge when, as he was leaving, he allegedly urinated out the police department door onto the sidewalk.

Jonathan J. Hathaway, 20, was arrested at a Washington Street address when village police responded to a call at 4:49 a.m. from a woman who said an unknown man was trying to get in through the back door.

Police say when they arrived, they found Hathaway trying to get into the house in question. He was taken to the station, issued a ticket charging him with trespass, and released.

As he was going out the door, police say he stood in the doorway and urinated on the sidewalk. He was given a ticket for public urination.

He will answer both charges in village court on July 21.
