MACOMB -- A Pennsylvania man faces a felony driving while intoxicated charges after he fled the scene of accident Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 4:30 p.m., reported Ogdensburg-based State Police.

Troopers report that Walter T. Magie, 33, of Hawley, Penn., was involved in car-house collision at the intersection of state Highway 58 and county Route 6 in the Town of Morristown. Upon arrival at the scene, State Police say they observed tire marks in the snow were a vehicle had exited the roadway at the intersection, striking a house approximately 150 feet off the roadway. The vehicle had fled the scene.

The suspect vehicle, a 2003 Ford F-250, was located at about 5 a.m. and stopped on Bishop Road in Macomb. The truck had damage to the front passenger side. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Magie.

The Pennsylvania man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Ogdensburg State Police barracks for processing. A breath sample resulted in a BAC of .18%. Further investigation revealed Magie had a DUI conviction in Pennsylvania from 2010, and he was charged with felony DWI, and aggravated DWI, in addition to leaving the scene of a property damage accident, crossing road hazard markings and speed exceeding conditions.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Maple City Auto.

Magie was arraigned in Fowler town court before Justice Philips later that evening at 8:40 and was released under the supervision of the Probation Department. He is scheduled to appear in Morristown town Court Feb. 6 at 1 p.m.
