POTSDAM — Potsdam police arrested a man for driving at three times the legal threshold for a driving while intoxicated charge on Bay Street Sunday morning.
Grant W. Spence, 23, Carthage, was charged with aggravated DWI: Blood-alcohol content (BAC) higher than .18 at 1:11 a.m., officers said.
He was pulled over due to an inadequate stop lamp, police said.
During the traffic stop officers could detect the odor of alcohol emanating from inside the vehicle, police said.
Spence was brought to the police station where a test revealed his BAC to be .24 percent, three times the legal limit.
He was released on tickets returnable to Potsdam court Oct. 4.
