OGDENSBURG — Ogdensburg police said they arrested a man on driving while intoxicated charges on Sunday after the driver crashed into a pole on Franklin Street.
Several people called police to report that a vehicle had struck a pole around midnight, officers said.
The subject allegedly had a severe laceration to the head, police said.
The driver, Dustin A. Miller, (no age or hometown listed) was transported to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center for his injuries, officers said.
Miller was charged with first-offense DWI and using a portable electronic device and no seat belt, police said.
Rescue personnel responded and National Grid was made aware of that that one of their poles sustained damage, officers said.
Maple City Auto reportedly towed the vehicle from the scene.
