OGDENSBURG – Derek James Denny was arrested for methamphetamine-related charges and other offenses, including escaping custody at one point, by city police March 2 after his vehicle was pulled over on the 900 block of Franklin Street around noon.

Police said Denny fled his vehicle on foot after being pulled over and ran into a residence before being apprehended.

Denny was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: methamphetamine, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

He was later charged with first-degree escape as well.

He was arraigned before Judge Small, and is being held at the St. Lawerence County Correctional Facility on $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond bail.
