DEKALB -- A Grand Island man was jailed on $3,000 bail after allegedly drove drunk at nearly three times the legal limit with a child in the vehicle at 2:46 p.m. Sunday on State Highway 11, Gouverneur-based state police said.
Mark E. Dlugokinski, 42, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to keep right on a two-lane road, moving from lane unsafely, operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of more than .08 of 1 percent, driving while intoxicated first offense, aggravated driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on the highway.
Dlugokinski had a BAC of .23 percent of 1 percent.
Troopers say the passenger was 10 years old.
Dlugokinski was arraigned at the Town of Fowler Court and was remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. His next appearance is scheduled for Oct. 25, 2013 at 3 p.m. in the Town of Fowler Court.
