POTSDAM -- A man reportedly seen passed out in a coin laundry early today awoke in a combative mood when Potsdam Police checked on him, and has been charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
Police received a report at about 3:15 a.m. today that a man was passed out at Super Suds coin laundry in the Prosh Building on Main Street.
Police woke Daniel W. Blanchard, 22, of Sharon Springs and saw that he appeared to be "highly intoxicated. Blanchard became combative towards patrols when they attempted to take him to the hospital and attempted to flee the area," police said.
After being released from the hospital, Blanchard was taken into custody and arraigned before Village Justice Pignone on the obstruction and resisting arrest charges.
