HOPKINTON – A Brushton man was airlifted to a Syracuse hospital Saturday for chest and head injuries received after he lost control of his ATV, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Raymond R. Parent, 45, of 378 County Route 17, Brushton, suffered the injuries after being ejected from his ATV about 6:30 p.m. on a private road off the Sylvan Falls Road, deputies said.

Deputies said he lost control on a curve, went off the left side of the road, struck several trees and overturned before being ejected from the ATV.

He was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital by the Parishville Rescue Squad and later airlifted to SUNY Upstate Medical Center, deputies said.

The incident is still under investigation and charges may be pending, deputies said.
