Jimmy S. O’Brien, 64, of 88 Evans Lane, Lake Placid, was arrested today by St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies after investigation of the incident.
The charges against him are third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Deputies said O’Brien entered the locker room after a game and shoved the boy against a cement wall, causing a concussion.
People who attended last Monday’s Canton Board of Trustees meeting said the mother of the boy, from Canton, spoke at the meeting and complained of the attack.
O’Brien was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and was released on his own recognizance. He is to reappear in Norfolk Town Court at a later date.
An order of protection was also issued at court.
