MALONE --An autopsy of a Malone woman killed in a two-vehicle collision Thursday died from internal injuries, according to an autopsy report.

Betty A. Case, 54, was killed in a State Route 37 accident at 5:08 p.m. Thursday.

Investigation revealed, a 2015 Ford Fiesta, operated by Brandon J. Case, 23 of Malone with his mother, Betty A. Case, 54 also of Malone as a passenger, was eastbound on State Route 37, approximately one-half mile west of Bare Hill Road, when his vehicle veered into the westbound lane and struck a 2016 Ford Escape, operated by Lindsay M. LaPage, 22 of North Bangor head-on.

The operators of both vehicles were transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center by Malone EMS, and were subsequently air-lifted to the University of Vermont Health Network at Fletcher Allen. The front seat passenger of Fiesta, Betty Case was transported to Alice Hyde Medical Center by Bangor EMS and succumbed to her injuries.

On July 7, 2016, an autopsy was performed on Betty A. Case by Dr. Leonardo Dishman, at Alice Hyde Medical Center. Dr. Dishman determined the cause of death to be internal injuries. Franklin County Coroner Brian Langdon ruled the manner of death to be accidental.
