GOUVERNEUR -- Thomas M. Barbarito, 36, of Malone, was arrested by state police at 10 p.m. July 26, at Gentle Breeze Drive in Malone, as a result of a Gouverneur town court arrest warrant for burglary charges.
A press release from the Gouverneur Police Department said Barbarito was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny.
Police said it is alleged that between Nov. 19, 2016 and Nov. 31, 2016, Barbarito entered an apartment building and stole $120 from a cash-operated washer and dryer and stole tools valued at approximately $1870.
And, police said, on Nov. 26, 2016 it is alleged Barbarito entered a vehicle and stole $2,000 in cash.
Barbarito also was the subject of an outstanding county court bench warrant and warrants held with the state police, report Gouverneur police.
He was arraigned at Gouverneur town court in front of Justice Travis Dann and ordered held at the county jail in lieu bail $25,000.00 cash or $50,000.00 bond bail.
