CANTON -- SUNY Canton has been named a "STEM Jobs Approved College" by Victory Media, publishers of STEM Jobs magazine.
The organization also announced that SUNY Canton is a "Top 5 Industry Award" winner for geoscience.
Both “recognize schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to students pursuing STEM programs and careers,” according to SUNY Canton.
The 2016 STEM Jobs Approved Colleges list rates universities, colleges and trade schools on their ability and responsiveness to connecting programs and students with STEM occupations. Schools were scored on areas such as student opportunities, industry partnerships, career-driven coursework and engaging under-represented populations.
The college was also selected “for its efforts to expose elementary, middle and high school students to STEM fields through the annual Women in Engineering Day and Engineering Open House,” SUNY Canton said.
