Madrid’s Paige drops out of Assembly race, endorses candidate from Herkimer County

Phillip Paige, Madrid, announced publicly on his Facebook page that he was formally ending his campaign for the NYS 118th Assembly District but stated that he remains “committed to candor and substance”

The race for the Republican nomination has been a 3-way race between Phillip Paige, Patrick Vincent and Robert Smullen.   Mr. Paige leaves with nothing but kind words for candidate Patrick Vincent stating that Mr. Vincent is “a genuinely good person, a public servant at heart, and a dedicated reformer.  Our differences are on policy alone-I’ve had only positive interactions with he and his family.  Consequently, I leave this race dedicated to assisting Mr. Vincent in his bid for the Republican nomination”.

This endorsement joins other major endorsements Mr. Vincent has received in the past three months most recently earning the recognition and support from the Oneida Republican Committee, the Herkimer County Conservative Committee, the Herkimer County Republican Committee and the United Mine Workers of America Union, Local 717 that represents the workers of Remington Arms.

Patrick Vincent states “I am honored to receive the personal endorsement of Phillip Paige.  Phillip is a brilliant young man that someday will make us all very proud.  I have only the highest respect and admiration for him”.

The 118th Assembly District is made up of parts of Herkimer County including the northern portion of Herkimer County, all of Fulton and Hamilton Counties and portions of Oneida and St. Lawrence counties.
