Madrid woman arrested as fugitive from justice, awaits extradition to Virginia

MADRID – A Madrid woman is being held on $1,000 bail after being arrested as a fugitive March 11.

State Police arrested Sheena E. Collins, 33, of Madrid on a Town of Potsdam arrest warrant for petit larceny after troopers observed her walking on Elm Street in Madrid, recognized her, and knew she was wanted by Potsdam Town Court.

Additionally, she was processed as a fugitive from justice from the Stafford County Sheriff's Department, in the State of Virginia. Stafford County sheriff’s deputies stated they were willing to extradite Collins on the felony probation warrant, for failing to appear for probation, stemming from a Forgery arrest.

Collins was arraigned the in the Town of Potsdam Court by Town Justice Samuel Charlson.

She was ordered held in the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on no bail, pending her extradition to the State of Virginia.

She was additionally held on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond for the petit larceny charge out of the Town of Potsdam.
