MADRID -- Madrid-Waddington Central School students are back in class this afternoon after a bomb scare this morning.
Details are sketchy, and the state police investigation is ongoing, but Superintendent Lynn Roy said that she was alerted at about 7:45 this morning to a bomb threat found in a locker room.
All classes in the K-through-12 building were evacuated, as had been practiced in the past, Roy said.
State police went through all the lockers and avery room in the building and apparently found nothing that would put people in immediate danger, but "the investigation is ongoing," Roy said.
Students were back in class by 9:30 a.m., Roy said.
"I want to thank all the community members and parents for their cooperation," Roy said, and was pleased with the communication afforded by e-mail and the school's web site.
