MADRID -- The Madrid-Waddington Central School Parent Teacher Organization say they are proud to have provided many events and treats to the elementary staff and students during the school year.
The organization says they saw the continuation of the “Book Nook.” Students were allowed to trade and/or purchase a book for 25 cents.
The group held a “Spirit Day.” With the help of Mr. Daley, organized the high school pep rally. Individual and class awards and ice cream were provided to those with the most school spirit.
Penguin Patch allowed students to shop for their families during the holiday season. The fall and spring Scholastic Book Fairs provided the elementary library with over $3,000 in “Scholastic Money” for improvement purposes.
During faculty appreciation day the PTO provided elementary faculty members with a platter of cookies.
Each elementary instructor was given $100 in Scholastic money from the spring book fair to help make improvements to his or her classroom.
At School Lunch Hero Day they provided the elementary cafeteria staff with a platter of cookies. Bus drivers were given coffee and breakfast treats for bus driver appreciation day
The assisted with the faculty holiday luncheon, donated by Subway in Massena. The PTO donated money to the first grade Valentine’s Day dance.
The group created an elementary yearbook through Life Touch. This coincided with a school wide art contest. The winner’s picture was placed on the first page of our yearbook.
A yearbook signing session and cookie platter for the 5th grade graduates event was held.
The PTO donated books from the book fair to those students who were unable to purchase them on their own. Money raised through yearbook, drink coolie, t-shirt, and lollipop sales went towards some of the events.
The PTO says new members are always welcome and to be on the lookout for information this fall.
