MADRID -- A duo from Madrid recently won the “I Love Barbecue Junior World Championship” competition in Lake Placid.
Austin Delosh, 15, and Caleb Froats, 11, competed against other youth team as team “Hot Shots” and were crowned grand champions, taking home a $500 prize.
“Their grilling prowess netted them first place in the ribs category, second in chicken, third in steak and third in dessert…yes, you can make cheesecake in a smoker, tallying enough points to take the overall championship,” according to Laurie Marr, who submitted the photo.
