GOUVERNEUR -- State troopers say a Madrid man is jailed on accusations that he caused serious injury to a victim during a robbery while a second suspect faces a harassment charge stemming from the same alleged incident.
Cordell W. Douglas, 21, is charged with first-degree robbery: causing serious injury, a class B felony troopers said.
Investigators say they also charged him with a misdemeanor count of giving a false written statement.
The charge stems from an incident reported Sept. 20 at 4:10 p.m., investigators said.
Douglas was charged at 11:22 a.m. Saturday at 1005 U.S. Highway 11, troopers said.
He was arraigned in court and remanded to jail pending further proceedings, police said.
Also accused in connection with incident was Travis N. Cole, 24, of Gouverneur, who is facing a single count of second-degree harassment, a violation, troopers said.
He was charged at 1:01 Thursday at the Canton Police Department and released with an appearance ticket, troopers said.
