Lyft says it is offering half-off of fares to take voters in St. Lawrence County and elsewhere to and from the polls on Election Day.
People who use the ride-sharing app can go to https://www.buzzfeed.com/pollup2018/welcome-to-pollup2018, enter their zip code and they will get a promo code they can use in the app on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
In a statement announcing the offer, Lyft cited studies where respondents said transportation was an obstacle that prevented them from voting in past elections.
People can sign up for free to use Lyft by downloading the app from their mobile device’s app store.
