WANAKENA -- State forest rangers rescued two hikers who got lost in the woods on April 29, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
About 1:37 p.m. that day, a 62-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man called DEC to report they got lost in Five Ponds Wilderness while trying to hike to the fire tower.
DEC says they told the pair to call 911 and get their coordinates and forest rangers found them at 2:52 p.m.
They were in good condition and were escorted back to their vehicle by 4 p.m., DEC said.
