POTSDAM – “The Look” salon and spa has replaced “Magic Comb” at 22 Depot St. Suite P, but will continue to offer much of what the location did before, according to new owner Rachel LaShomb.
Lashomb took over ownership on March 1 after purchasing the salon from Sue Weems who owned the Magic Comb for 15 years.
Weems has joined Body Shop Fitness and Salon, 47 State Highway 345, as a hair stylist and will be accompanied by former Mafic Comb employee and 50-year hair stylist veteran Sandra Giuliani.
While the business name and ownership changed, haircuts, perms, facials, wax and acrylic nails, gel manicures and pedicure services will all be remain.
“I have been an owner before and I decided to buy because I saw it as a great opportunity,” she said.
LaShomb is joined at the shop by co-workers Pauline Clark and Dailyn Snyder but she said she is looking to hire help for a hairdresser, nail technician and massage therapist.
A “Glamour Shot” weekend will be held May 2, 3 for girls to get their makeup and hair done and try on outfits.
The cost is $39.95 and includes an 8X10 photo, LaShomb said.
They offer hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. To make an appointment, call 274-9393.
