Organizers are encouraging public input at a series of North Country Regional Economic Development Council meetings early in June, including one in Potsdam June 3.

The council is soliciting projects and plans for consideration as the they prepare for the fourth annual round of regional competition for state aid.

The NCREDC is encouraging all individuals, businesses, organizations, labor, and university representatives from the North Country to attend one of the scheduled public forums in the region to share ideas for job growth opportunities.

The forums will include a presentation to the public on Round 4 of the regional economic development council initiative, competitive funding guidelines, and on the implementation of the North Country Strategic Plan and Progress Report since last year.

The June 3 meeting for St. Lawrence County will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Barben Rooms upstairs at Clarkson University’s Cheel Center. Parking and registration information is available on the NCREDC website at http://regionalcouncils.ny.gov/content/2014-ncredc-forums.

Those who are not able to attend a public forum may visit www.northcountryopenforbusiness.com to find the NCREDC’s Strategic Plan, Progress Report and other documents, as well as to submit comments and suggestions.

The next full council meeting takes place in Lake Placid Friday, June 6, and will include a public comment session.

The seven-county North Country region comprises St. Lawrence, Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Jefferson and Lewis counties.

The NCREDC was named a “Top Performer” in 2013 and 2012 in addition to their plan being named a “Best Plan Awardee” in December 2011.
